Beware of buying a restored vehicle

If it sounds too good to be true…You’ve heard it before and it certainly applies to buying a car. In this state, and much more, anyone can buy a totaled car, fix it in their backyard, and sell it as a restored salvage titled car. The average consumer may not even know what that means or find out too late what it means. Quite simply a salvage title means the insurance company totaled the car- it cost more to fix than the car (correctly) than the car was worth.  If someone buys the car, fixes it and sells it to make money they most likely cut corners somewhere and my experience is it is in quality and then the list goes from there.

Beware of buying a restored vehicle

So…if it sounds too good to be true, beware, it probably is. And if you are buying a used car, most certainly include an auto body repair shop, like Capitol Collision, in your list of a pre-purchase inspection. It takes a short time and if you are one of our customers, there is no charge for this service.
