It’s Always Sunny in Arizona
Sunny days are the norm for people living in Arizona. Many would think sunny days pose no danger, like rain, hail, or snow might. But the truth is, sunny days have a hidden danger-sun glare. Sun glare is extremely dangerous to drivers because it impairs their vision, allowing them the potential to get into an accident. They could be driving down the road, into the sun and not see the young child in the crosswalk and hit him.
Both their lives are changed forever.
Police state that sun glare is one of the many unreported reasons for accidents. It is not due solely to direct sunlight but also because of glares bouncing off other cars, buildings, and even your own dashboard.
There are many ways that you can use to try and minimize the chances of getting in an accident as a result of sun glare. Here are some tips:
Sunny in Arizona
- Invest in a pair of polarized sun glasses. They are stylish and helpful in reducing the amount of sun glare.
- Don’t be afraid to put down your sun visor. It helps to block out the sun.
- Leave more room between you and other cars. When driving into the sun, it may be difficult to see what the cars in front of you are doing. By leaving more room, you will have more time to react if needed.
- Turn on those headlights! When you drive with your headlights on, it increases the visibility of other drivers-they know you are there.
- Keep that windshield clean. Dirt magnifies the glare of the sun, making it that much harder to see.
Of course, there is never a time where driving conditions and visibility will be perfect, but knowing what to do in a case like this will help you in making adjustments for any weather conditions thrown in your lane.
